Investor protection

We prioritize safeguarding our investors' interests.

Nectaro is a licensed investment platform ( IBF license Nr 27-55/2023/3 ) supervised by the central bank of Latvia.

At Nectaro, we respectfully observe the Investor Protection Law. This law outlines the principles and procedures for ensuring investor protection, including the application of a compensation scheme.

The case

In the unfortunate event that Nectaro is unable to fulfill its obligations to an investor, the Investor's Protection Law allows for compensation. Investors may be eligible to receive 90% of the value of irrevocably lost Notes or losses incurred due to non-provision of investment services, up to a total limit of EUR 20,000.

The Action

To apply for compensation, investors must submit an application to the Bank of Latvia within one year of becoming aware of Nectaro's inability to meet its obligations, but no later than five years from the date of the failure.

The Details

The compensation shall cover financial instruments based on their market price at the time of the investment service provider's failure to meet its obligations. It does not apply to losses caused by changes in financial instrument prices or illiquidity.

Protection of investor assets

Nectaro ensures the safety of investor assets by maintaining a clear separation between their financial instruments and uninvested funds, and Nectaro's own assets.

Assessment of suitability & appropriateness

To prevent investors from assuming excessive risk, Nectaro conducts individual assessments to ensure that investment choices align with their unique circumstances.

Comprehensive access to information

Nectaro provides thorough and detailed information, empowering investors to make well-considered decisions regarding their investments

Thorough due diligence

Nectaro meticulously conducts due diligence on all third-party partners, including lending companies, to ensure the highest level of inspection

Regulatory compliance for investor protection

Regulated investment firms within the European Union must adhere to a range of laws and regulations designed to safeguard both investors and the overall stability of the financial system. By employing a combination of robust internal controls, external and internal audits, and regulatory supervision, Nectaro diligently upholds all relevant mandates.

Markets in Financial Instruments Directive

The MiFID framework enhances investor protection and minimizes systemic risk by establishing uniform standards and guidelines for investment firms operating across the EU. Covering virtually every aspect of financial investment and trading within the EU, MiFID governs market transparency, transaction reporting, product governance, investor protection, and inducement rules.

Markets in Financial Instruments Regulation

In tandem with the MiFID II directive, MiFIR addresses business requirements for investment firms. This includes aspects like trade and transaction reporting. MiFIR's objective is to enhance transparency for investors, mandating that investment firms in the European Economic Area publicly disclose certain trades.

Regulation for Packaged Retail and Insurance-based Investment Products

The Prospectus regulation establishes a standardized framework for the structure, content, and approval of base prospectuses. These documents enable investors to make informed decisions by presenting information clearly and concisely, while promoting easy comparison among different investments.

Investment Firms Directive and Regulation

The IFD and IFR usher in a prudential framework for investment firms, encompassing factors such as minimum capital requirements, liquidity buffers, and concentration risk limits. These provisions are tailored to the firm's asset size and the risk profile of their activities, ensuring a secure financial environment.

Our commitment to investor protection extends to informing our clients about their participation in the system and the compensation amount for outstanding liabilities, in accordance with the Investor Protection Law. Your trust and security are paramount to us, and we strive to provide a transparent and protected investing experience at Nectaro.
